COVID SAFETY MEASURES

Here are some of the measures we have in place to ensure your safety:

  • Updated training for every team member as to the new COVID protocols
  • Wearing of masks for anyone in the office including staff, patients and visitors
  • Every patient is screened for COVID-19 symptoms when confirming their appointment
  • All team members, patients, and visitors are screened for COVID-19 symptoms upon arrival at the office.  Based on the answers provided, we may need to cancel your visit to the office and reschedule it at a later date.  If you screen positive for COVID-19 you should call your local public health unit and/or telehealth (1-866-797-0000) for assessment
  • All team members, patients, and visitors will have their temperature taken upon arrival at the office.  For your safety, any individual with a temperature of 38*C or higher will need to reschedule their visit for a later date
  • All team members, patients, and visitors who enter our facility must hand sanitize immediately
  • Any public areas with patient or visitor contact will be sanitized appropriately and regularly
  • As always, we continue to observe universal precautions for all procedures for all patients to prevent cross-contamination, not only for COVID–19 but also for other communicable diseases.
  • Magazines and toys have been removed from the reception area
  • The reception area has been arranged to allow for proper physical distancing
  • Limited use of the waiting room/reception area. We are asking that patients/visitors not use the reception area if at all possible
  • We have installed a glass barrier at the front desk
  • We have placed barriers between each operatory. If need be, the operatory can be completely sealed up during an appointment
  • Our HVAC system has been assessed by licensed professionals and we exceed the air exchange per hour rate by 10x the recommended amount. We have also installed Jade medical-grade air purifier units in each operatory to further enhance the airflow. https://surgicallycleanair.com/jade/
  • In addition, we have installed a larger Cascade medical-grade air purifier in the reception area  http://surgicallycleanair.com/cascade-white/
  • All treatment areas are thoroughly disinfected with an approved disinfectant between patients
  • We will continue to monitor scientific evidence and the direction of the public health officials and implement changes as needed
  • We will be using enhanced PPE for aerosol-generating procedures
  • Patients may rinse with a 1% hydrogen peroxide prior to their dental procedure
  • We limit the number of people in the office
  • Safer patient movement through the office
  • Appointment times have been extended to accommodate for our new protocols. Appointments will also be managed to allow for physical distancing between patients. That might mean you will be offered fewer options when scheduling your appointment or your appointment time may be changed slightly. Please be patient with us as we allow extra time for each appointment and do our best to stagger patient appointments to help with physical distancing
  • We recommend comprehensive dental care to reduce visit frequency. If you have multiple fillings to do, consider doing them all at once to minimize the number of visits needed
  • All patients and team members are asked to maintain respectful distancing (6 foot distance whenever possible) in waiting areas and in the clinical area.
  • At the end of your appointment, we will ask that you put your mask back on and use the hand sanitizer again before leaving the operatory
  • We will use contactless tap credit and debit card payments when possible. The credit/debit card machine is disinfected after each use
  • We ask that any patient or visitor who has been to the office contact us if they develop any COVID 19 symptoms within 14 days of their office visit
